Within my design concept I conveyed a notion of crossing both the cultural and physical borders of Italy and Switzerland. Taking inspiration from the proximity of the countries’ natural border, the aesthetic of my design relies upon the connecting element between the countries, the Alps and all their beauty. This physical connection is joined by a pairing of the countries cultures and traditions found in the abundance of the finest Swiss and Italian chocolates, cheeses and wines. This passageway through the blend of Swiss and Italian delicacies leads to a cathedral hall where long communal tables, filled with the aromas of melting cheeses and chocolates, relay the communal elements of both cultures. This mixture of cultural aesthetics and traditions reflects the warmth and pleasantries of a chalet and the grandeur and sanctity of a cathedral, becoming a perfect environment to enjoy warm meal and good company.
